Western Styria is well-known for its very tasteful wines which are sold troughout Europe. It is also home of one unique kind of wine, the Schilcher, which is made out of the "Blaue Wildbacher Rebe" grape.

Since 1750 the Peters have been growing this fresh and delidious wine and nowadays their vineyards have expanded to an area of 3,5 ha alltogehter. The Schilcher is unique because it is only produced here in Western Styria and it is a very aromatic wine with accentuated acidity and has slightly berry taste to it. Its colour is from a light pink to an almost onion-like brown, therefore it´s difficult to say if it is a red or a white wine. But furhter to the Schilcher, you will also get Pinot blanc and the Chardonnay. If you don´t want to drink any alcohol, you can enjoy yourself with a glass of homemade apple, grape, or even red currant juice.

In 1998, Toni PETER converted an oldbarn into a modern but still typical Styrian Buschenschank offering the traditional Styrina "Brettljausn" - a dish wiht homemade cold cuts and smoke meats, spreads ("Verhackert"), an the very hot horseadisch ("Kren"). About 15 minutes from the farm there is a fish pond situated in a beautiful forest which belongs to the farm. The carps out of that pond, which is called "The Fairy Tale Pond", are also one of the many tasteful specialties of the Buschenschank. Because of this, it did not take too long for the Buschenschk to get well-known among Austrians and of course tourists. For more than 100 years the Fairy Tale Pond has been inviting you to relax and to find peace and harmony in an amazing background of woods, hills, and vieyards. Toni PETER is a skilled winegrower who carefully selects and produces his wines. It is haard to choose something when you look at all those traditional homemade specialties he is offering you. There is not only a Buschenschank but also a wine cellar.
