Ms. Barbara Schmitd was born on 4.8.1963 in Graz. As part of her pedagogical training under the direction of Prof. Dr. Gollowitsch she specifically dealt with silk-screen printing.

After a long creative break in 1999 she started to get involved with acrylic painting. Being fascinated by the multiple possibilities this material is offering (from watercolor to strongly structured plastic "Tastbildern") an interesting field of creative work has opened to her.

Ms. Schmidt is an autodidact, but since she has taken part in numerous courses (with Prof. Srkalovic, Mag. art Bogdan Pascu, Mag. Manhal art, Mag. art Acél Litschke, Mag. art Strobl) and above all having participatedat some workshops in the Vienna Art Forum, she has gained a lot of basic knowledge.

The versatility of acralic art represents the essence of the multifaceted artist´s soul.

Ms. Schmidt is a person that likes changes which you can recognize in various ways in her abstract images. Her paintings stimulate the viewer´s imagination to always discover new impressions whenever looking at them.
